Pallance taking acting to a whole new level...

He is young, hip and happening and at just a young age he is taking the South African acting industry by storm as he is making waves across TV, his name is Pallance Dladla.

Most of you will remember him as the  the runner-up of the second season of the SABC1 reality competition television series Class Act, in 2011, and today he is in multi award winning drama, Intersexions, and Tempy Pushas, a new drama series airing on SABC1.

Born in Johannesburg and raised in Soweto, Pallance developed a love for acting at a young age. He won awards for his self-penned play Milk and Bread and was runner-up in the 2010 nationwide DALRO scholarship competition. He also won the Parktown Boys High Original Script Award along with The Best Actor Award in his high school days. It was clearly in his early life that indeed he was destined for great things.

He managed to grab himself an award at this year’s South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) ceremony as the best new comer, and he has revealed in recent interviews that that was one of the biggest highlights in his career.

In 2011, Pallance reached the final of Class Act 2011, a talent search competition broadcast nationally on SABC1. He received widespread acclaim for his performances from the likes of Darryl Roodt (director of Academy Award nominated film, Yesterday) and director Tim Greene, but lost out by a narrow margin to Abdul Khoza, who he starred with in Intersexions, in the final public vote. He played the role of Jimmy, a sexy dancer, in the e.tv drama series 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls. He has also had a cameo role as Mohato in the seventh season of the British drama series Wild at Heart.

This year he has landed roles in three television series: the Mzansi Magic telenovela, isiBaya, and SABC1’s Intersexions and Tempy Pushas.

There is no doubt that Pallance is  fast becoming a force to be reckoned with as far as acting goes- he is definitely shining his way to the top.

You can catch Pallance on isiBaya on Mzansi Magic, Intersexions every Tuesday night at 2030hrs and on Fridays he is back again in Tempy Pushas at 2030hrs as well- catch all this action on SABC1-MZANSI FO SHO.

Mafikizolo back with a bang...

Most of you will remember them by their hit song “ndihamba nawe” which had everyone moving and shaking back then, can’t really recall when was that but all i know is that i was still in primary school. This Afro-pop sensation group was taking over the music scene like a wind sweeping through an open field. As time went by they decided to part ways and pursue their solo careers but 2013 saw the duo reuniting and doing what they do best, they are back with a bang.

Indeed, after a six-year break, Mafikizolo is back with a bang! Their latest single, Khona, featuring Uhuru, has taken the airwaves by storm and their fans are probably the happiest alive.

Mafikizolo singer Nhlanhla Nciza is ecstatic about their new release. In an interview with the sowetanlive she said, “This has been an exciting and a blessed project.”

The group isn't only making a comeback - they have also refreshed their sound. It is totally different from their previous hits. The duo, which is known for their Afro-pop style, has moved on to become an African house sensation.

Their new hit is a dance and sweat tune.

They have adopted an African style in the song and it sounds rather like an Angolan melody, though it is sung in isiZulu. By the look of things, it is making waves in other African countries as well.

"We wanted an African feel. Many of our tracks on the new album have a unique sound, though some of our songs are still Afro-pop," Nciza said. She calls it a blessing to have met some young producers in the industry who have helped with the evolution of the traditional Mafikizolo 60s sound. Their previous sound appeared more popular to a mature audience, so they have broadened their horizons and is set to reach out more to the youth.

The twosome were last seen in the music industry in 2006 after releasing their sixth album, Mabone, before trying to launch solo careers.

Mafikizolo started in 1996 with three members -Nhlanhla Nciza, Theo Kgosinkwe and the late Tebogo Madingoane.

Peace!!!

Jason Derulo to propose to Jordin Sparks...

Who knew that these two were even an item??? I was really surprised when I across the news on sowetanlive.com. It really goes to show that there are some celebrities that do the best they can to keep their private lives private.

Sowetan Live on 15 March reported:

Jason Derulo has revealed he is getting ready to propose to his girlfriend Jordin Sparks and has even written a song for when he pops the question. The couple has been dating for over 18 months and the 'Don't Wanna Go Home' singer is getting ready to make Jordin his wife.

Jason, 23, has even written a song to accompany his proposal and he has a date in his mind when he is going to pop the question.

He is quoted In Touch Weekly magazine as saying: "The proposal will be monumental. I wrote a song called 'Marry Me'. I have a date in mind. I want to surprise her but she's given me guidelines first. I have to ask her dad for permission."

Jordin has been very open about her relationship with Jason and has admitted she would love to settle down with him and start a family with the musician.

She previously said: "I hope to marry and have kids one day, for sure, and I do see him in my future. But we both have to be ready. If that happens one day, it will happen."

Jordin has also credited Jason with keeping her calm and stress free since they began their romance in August 2011.

She said: "There is something as simple as him just being in the room with me that helps calm me down and makes me feel at ease ... He says sweet things. When you love somebody, the littlest thing can be the biggest thing."

I am happy for these lovebirds and may their future shine bright like a diamond just as Rihanna says.

Known to many television viewers as James Motsamai on SABC2 soapie Muvhango, Dingaan Mokebe will also be seen presenting the channel’s consumer rights show Speak Out, whose new season aired out last week Thursday.

Actor Mokebe feels that the consumer investigative show, which airs on Thursdays evenings, will introduce him to a new market.

He also said, “Though this is a show where i will be confronting alleged fraudsters and conman, i am ready for the challenge.”

Mokebe also revealed that people have the misconception that the show is about exposing wrongdoings, but says it is also about making wrongdoers takes responsibility for their actions and rectify them.

Lady Gaga recovers from surgery in style...

There is no stopping when it comes to the edgy pop sensation Lady Gaga who is rather known for her unique fashion sense.

The American Daily Mail Reporter on 12 March 2013 reported that Lady Gaga spins around in 24k gold plated wheelchair as she recovers from surgery.
Lady Gaga turned her wheelchair into an accessory after she was left with limited mobility after undergoing surgery on her hip. Her agent revealed that the 26 year old was never going to be limping around in scruffy old crutches, instead she is using this 24k gold plated wheelchair specially created for her by Ken Borochov of luxury brand Mordekai.

The one in a kind chair comes with a black tufted calf leather seat and a removable leather canopy. The vintage inspired vehicle looks like something from Victoria England, with a padded leg rest and even gold plated brakes. Last month the singer posted a picture of the chair on twitter introducing it to her followers as ‘Emma’.

the chair that has GAGA rolling in style.

Gaga was pictured reclining in the plush chair in a photo posted online by Terry Richardson.
This all comes after the Bad Romance singer was forced to cancel all 25 of her remaining tour dates in the U.S, after suffering a severe injury to her right hip that had been causing her chronic pain.

Bonang Matheba striking it gold...

Her mother called her Bonang, her fans call her “Queen Bee” and she calls herself “your girl Bee”, whatever you decide to call her fact is Bonang is taking the South African entertainment industry by storm and she is such a great force to be reckoned with.

Most people will remember her as the chubby girl who was in a relationship with Siyabonga Metane who is affectionately known as Slikour in the music industry. Bonang soon proved to everyone that she was more than the trophy woman she was portrayed to be when she landed a presenting gig with the music show LIVE which is now called LIVE AMPLIFIED.

Noticeably energetic and extremely confident, Matheba proved to be great asset to the LIVE team as she drew in many audiences from around the region and she steadily rose to be the star that she is today.
On 11 December 2012 the TOP BILLING team announced that she was joining their family after leaving her signature show, LIVE.

Speaking on Bonang joining TOP BILLING late last year, Basetsana Kumalo, the executive producer at Tswelopelo Productions said, “Bonang presents true South African talent with her unique brand essence that captivates audiences”. She went on to describe her as a refreshing, relevant and inspiring young woman who exudes warmth, grace and charm.

Besides hosting the elite TOP BILLING magazine show, Matheba is also the host of Clash of the Choirs South Africa which airs on Mzansi Magic. She was the executive producer of the Lights, Camera, Fashion: the one hour yellow carpet broadcast at the 18th Annual South African Music Awards in May 2012, she is a DJ for YFM, she is one of the 13 African celebrities on the Forbes list, she has graced the covers of publications such as the Glamour magazine, she is the first black South African Celebrity to grace the cover of FHM magazine and the ONLY woman to ever grace the cover of men’s magazine, Blaque. This proves beyond doubt that she is indeed taking the entertainment industry to a whole new level.

Her personal life has been spilled all over in the media but she does not let that get her down. Her assault issue with then boyfriend DJ Euphonik went viral and the media went to the extremes of publishing her medical records without her consent and this sparked uproar as the South African Press Association (SAPA) asked Drum Magazine to apologise for invading her privacy. She does not let bad publicity dampen her free spirit but instead she uses that as stepping stones for greatness ahead. Bonang is such a great inspiration especially to all the young women who want to make it big in life.

Past, present, future, whichever way you look at it, the highly energetic and indefatigable Bonang Matheba is greatness defined.

Catch Bonang every Tuesday at 2000hrs on SABC 3’s Top Billing.
